I'm thinking.. it would be cool to divide members into element teams? Then ah do it up like Harry Potter, lol. Have national forums, special graphics, team support - work it into the pro-bending feature. Then everything you do around the forum could earn points and motivate participation and whatnot.

I have more ideas but its all rough at this point. I'd really love to know what you all think and what ideas you've got, I'm open to anything, within reason :D

I really like this idea? How will we go about picking an element? Will there be a "sorting ceremony" like in Harry Potter? Basically have members take an Avatar element quiz. Or shall we be original?

I think there should be some sort of "sorting ceremony" or if all else fails, use some sort of randomizer that cannot be refreshed.

What, you guys don't want to pick your element? I don't think Fire Lady can be apart of the Earth team or Water team or Air team :P

This is true. I'm all for it either way. Perhaps we can have some sort of personality test set up to determine which element you belong to. Somehow fixed so you can't refresh or try again if you don't like the results.

I love those. Because usually if they're good personality tests, they more or less line up in a general sense with the kind of person you are and it places you accordingly. I've never seen people disappointed from their results when they're accurate. ^^

Yeah a personality test would work wonderfully. The only problem is besides refreshing people can lie about their outcome if they don't like it.

Well, it might be a bit of work, but perhaps they can get the quiz automatically PMed to them and then they PM back the answers they chose? And whoever is in charge of administering the quiz can use a key and send them back which result they got?

That way they can't cheat.

I like the idea of a test and a permanent element but I also like the thought of switching elements.. perhaps people get sorted at first and then they can request a change? Maybe people volunteer for randomization?

I just don't want cliques to form and besides - I don't want to be part of just element, I'd like to try them all.

The PM idea seams like some work but a good solution. I'll see if I can work something fancy out..

Well how about this: first you get randomized, then you can take a little quiz to get sorted again (this could be like your "true" element or "home" element), and then you just rotate elements like the Avatar cycle?

So if you're first sorted fire, then you take a quiz and you end up water, and you want to change again, you go Earth, then Fire again.

OR if that's too much, you can just take the quiz when you first join, get sorted into your element based on you, and then if you want to change, you just submit a request and you'll be rotated into the next element of the cycle.

So if someone ends up air and they want to change, they can just be like "I wish to change elements, please." and then they can be made the water element and so on. But the changes should be limited like every three months, marking the season?

OR to make sure no "cliques" form, it is mandatory to rotate elements every season? So you get your "true" element, then you rotate every season.

These are just some ideas. I personally like the take a quiz, get your "true" element, then do a mandatory rotate every season, following the Avatar cycle.

I like the mandatory Element shift - every three months like I was talking about via PM (Fire Lady). That way, while the group will always be changing, they won't all have the same personality - some will be "Native Fire" others will be "Shift Fire".

We can even offer for people to "Break the Cycle" and take their chances being randomized into a foreign element.

Maybe a dedicated staff member who makes the group changes and whatnot? The Elemental Lotus could be a headmaster of sorts, with four sentries who head up each element?

I love shifting the element idea!! That way you can experience every element. Perhaps the Admin for the elements should be the Avatar. ;)
